Sachs motorsports module with flywheel at a special price, consisting of a reinforced Sachs Performance pressure plate, a torsion-sprung Sachs Racing clutch disc with sinter-pad clutch lining, and a single-mass flywheel. It provides a simple replacement for the existing clutch and flywheel.

The original dual-mass flywheel is replaced by a Lightweight Sachs Performance steel single-mass flywheel.

The technology

Extreme resilience: The Sachs Racing clutch for the VW Golf V and other models provides significantly higher transmittable Torque, greater resistance to thrust loads, and very high thermal load capacity compared with a standard clutch.

Clutch pressure plate

The Sachs Performance clutch pressure plate for the VW Golf V and other models is firmly bolted to the flywheel. When engaged, it transmits engine Torque to the clutch disc through the housing, tangential leaf springs, and pressure plate.

Decisive design factors are the pressure plate's heat capacity and the diaphragm spring's pressure and release force. The diaphragm spring provides high transmittable engine Torque through its shape, material, and sporty characteristics.

Clutch disc

The Sachs Racing clutch disc with sinter-pad clutch lining for the VW Golf V and other models is highly thermally resilient, resistant to higher rpm, and has a higher coefficient of friction than conventional organic clutch linings. This permits harder starts with abrupt clutch engagement. The sintered metal clutch lining is also particularly resistant to dirt and oil.

The torsion-sprung Sachs Racing clutch disc dampens engine vibration and protects the vehicle transmission. Sachs Racing spring-loaded clutch discs use stronger torsion dampers to transmit higher maximum engine Torque.

Due to the reduced mass and stiffer connection resulting from the omission of the original dual-mass flywheel, increased transmission noise and vibration cannot be ruled out.
