Description SACHS PERFORMANCE 883082001951 Racing Clutch Ferrari 296 GT3
Compact, free-revving, and high-load, the four-plate SACHS RCS 4/140 S3.4 uses a 140 mm friction diameter for a significantly reduced moment of inertia and short shift windows. This accelerates engine speed build-up and enables precise, repeatable modulation. Designed for the Ferrari 296 GT3 with tight installation space.
The 3.4 mm sintered metallic lining provides more heat capacity and wear reserve than 2.6 mm designs, while remaining more agile with faster temperature stabilisation than 5.2 mm linings. The bite point remains stable over long stints, with clean and consistent engagement even at high disc temperatures.
The forged aluminium clutch cover combines high stiffness with compact packaging. Pressure and intermediate plates made from high-strength steel ensure launch and endurance durability.
Less Mass
One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and associated low mass inertia. SACHS RCS clutches are designed for racing, allowing Torque to be transmitted rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox. Reducing crankshaft drive weight lowers the moment of inertia and considerably increases vehicle acceleration performance in lower gears.
Faster Acceleration
If the clutch has a moment of inertia of 0.061 kg·m², the moment of inertia at the drive wheel is 180 times higher in first gear with a transmission reduction of 13.4:1. Converted into vehicle mass, this equates to approximately 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear. The low moment of inertia considerably reduces shifting times and enables faster acceleration.
