Description SACHS PERFORMANCE 883082001623 Racing Clutch Ferrari 458 GT3
Vehicle-specific for the Ferrari 458 GT3 (2011-2014), the triple-disc SACHS RCS 3/140 S3.4 racing clutch uses a compact 140 mm diameter for low moment of inertia and short shift windows. It is ideal for the 458 GT3 drivetrain packaging and tight, technical circuits.
The 3.4 mm sintered metallic lining provides more heat capacity and wear reserve than 2.6 mm, with a more agile response and faster thermal reset than 5.2 mm. The result is a stable bite point over longer stints and precise modulation during launches and upshifts, matched to the high-revving character of the 458 GT3's 4.5 L V8.
The forged aluminum clutch cover provides high stiffness at low weight. Pressure and intermediate plates made from high-strength steel ensure launch durability and endurance strength in demanding GT3 use.
Less Mass
One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and associated low mass inertia. SACHS RCS clutches are Designed for racing, transmitting Torque rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox.
Reducing the weight of the crankshaft drive lowers the moment of inertia and considerably increases vehicle acceleration performance in the lower gears.
Faster Acceleration
If the clutch has a moment of inertia of 0.061 kg·m², the moment of inertia at the drive wheel is 180 times higher in first gear with a transmission reduction of 13.4:1 (13.4²). Converted into vehicle mass, this equates to approximately 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear.
The low moment of inertia of the SACHS RCS clutch considerably reduces shifting times and allows the vehicle to accelerate faster.
