The RECARO Podium GF is a retrofit shell seat engineered for combined road and track use. Developed for GT vehicles, sports cars, and touring vehicles, it integrates motorsport-oriented construction with certified road approval. The glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) seat shell provides reduced weight while complying with ABE requirements for public road use and FIA 8855-1999 homologation for competition.

The structure incorporates an integrated headrest, pronounced lateral support in the backrest and seat cushion areas, and specially formed shoulder contours to enhance driver stability under dynamic conditions. The open-back shell enables passive ventilation, while the ergonomic pad system supports long-distance comfort. The Size M configuration includes replaceable pads for drivers of medium build. This variant is equipped with an integrated side airbag (SAB), making it the first retrofit shell seat with airbag integration. The upholstery combines red Alcantara® with black leather for a high-grade finish and features highly fire-resistant materials.
