The RECARO Podium GF is a retrofit shell seat engineered for both road and track applications. Designed for GT vehicles, sports cars, and touring vehicles, it combines motorsport-derived construction with certified road legality. The glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) seat shell provides reduced weight while meeting ABE requirements for public road use and FIA 8855-1999 homologation for competition.

The seat integrates an extended headrest, pronounced lateral support in the backrest and seat cushion areas, and specially formed shoulder contours to stabilize the driver under dynamic loads. The open-back shell enables passive ventilation, while interchangeable pad systems ensure optimized ergonomics. The Size M version is equipped with pads for drivers of medium build. This variant features an integrated side airbag (SAB), making it the first retrofit shell seat with airbag integration. The upholstery in black velour is highly fire-resistant and suitable for demanding motorsport environments.
