This thermostat is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the factory unit. It features a lower activation temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit, compared to the factory thermostat's 190 degrees Fahrenheit for 1999-2010 and 2013 trucks, and 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 2010-2012 trucks. The lower activation temperature allows coolant to circulate earlier, helping to reduce and maintain lower engine temperatures. This thermostat is suitable for use in warmer climates or under extreme towing and driving conditions.
