This thermostat is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the factory unit. The Mishimoto high-temperature thermostat features a higher activation temperature of 205°F compared to the factory thermostat's 195°F. The increased activation temperature restricts coolant flow longer, allowing for quicker engine warmup, which is ideal for cold climates.
