This thermostat is designed as a direct-fit replacement for the factory unit. The Mishimoto thermostat features a higher activation temperature of 200°F compared to the factory thermostat at 192°F. The higher activation temperature restricts coolant flow longer, allowing for a quicker engine warm-up, which is ideal for cold climates. The CNC machined 6061 aluminum housing provides a proper seal and will not rust over time.
