The CVT transmission in the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX delivers smooth and seamless gear changes. However, overheating the transmission fluid can lead to early component failure, particularly for those racing or towing with their 2015-2021 WRX.

The Mishimoto CVT Transmission Oil Cooler Kit addresses high-stress situations by utilizing a large 19-row oil cooler mounted at the front of the vehicle for maximum airflow. This kit is designed to work alongside the stock transmission cooler, providing enhanced cooling performance. During testing, Mishimoto engineers observed consistent 20°F (6.7°C) drops in transmission fluid temperatures, even during normal driving conditions.

The kit features application-specific mounting brackets with holes for popular aftermarket horns, pre-cut rubber lines that fit stock transmission fittings, and all necessary hardware and clamps for a straightforward installation. The oil cooler is available in Sleek Silver or Stealth Black finishes.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3 Nm). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs. Recommended torque specification for all straight fittings and banjo bolts: 15-25 lb-ft. Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 35 ft-lb.

Caution: It is the installer's responsibility to check all thermostat plugs, NPT plugs, line fittings, and other connections to assure they are fully tightened before operating the vehicle. Mishimoto recommends checking all connections at regular intervals, especially during the first few miles after installation.

Note: This will add approximately 1 qt. of CVT transmission fluid. The transmission fluid is called "HT CVT Fluid" and can be purchased at any Subaru dealer.
