The 2015+ Golf TSI/GTI/R and its intercooling system are set for an upgrade with the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit. The stock intercooler, positioned between the radiator and AC condenser, uses a tube-and-fin construction with plastic end tanks, which can struggle to maintain low intake air temperatures during intense driving or increased boost.

The Mishimoto 2015+ Volkswagen MK7/MK8 Golf TSI/GTI/R Performance Intercooler replaces the stock unit with a larger, all-aluminum, TIG-welded bar-and-plate core. This design increases overall core volume by 89 percent and external fin surface area by 162 percent over stock. Cast aluminum end tanks with integrated airflow diverters ensure full use of the core for improved cooling.

When installed, this intercooler provides maximum power gains of 14 whp and 12 wtq on stock tuning, and reduces intercooler outlet temperatures by 23°F compared to the original equipment. The kit includes CNC-machined aluminum mounting brackets and is backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
