Many prototypes were tested, but only one design was selected. Engineers evaluated multiple designs for the 2014-2019 Fiesta ST intercooler, considering the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

The final version features a tube-and-fin style intercooler to allow airflow to the radiator and reduce overall weight. The core size is 51% larger than stock and provides a 25% increase in internal core volume. During testing, this intercooler reduced intake temperatures by 26°F. The kit is designed as a direct fit and is compatible with both stock and Mishimoto Fiesta ST Intercooler Pipes. Air diversion plates are included to channel air through the cooler for maximum efficiency. The all-aluminum, TIG-welded construction ensures high quality.

Note: This intercooler is rated for approximately 325 whp. Exceeding these horsepower limits could require a larger front-mount intercooler. The J-line intercooler can be used for horsepower levels exceeding 325 whp.
