The cooling system in the 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler is a critical component of the vehicle. Failure or clogging of any part in the cooling system can lead to serious issues. A clogged heater core can be inconvenient, while a clogged radiator can cause severe engine damage.

Many JK Wrangler owners experience repeated clogging and replacement of cooling system components. Normal engine wear and servicing can introduce solids into the system, causing further problems. The 2012-2018 JK models are especially prone to this due to excess casting sand left in the cylinder heads from the factory.

The Mishimoto 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Coolant Filter Kit helps prevent non-liquid contaminants from circulating in the engine and cooling components. This direct-fit kit installs in under an hour and uses a Wix filter that traps particles as small as 27 microns. The silicone hoses are direct fit, and the included ball valves provide durability. The 4mm-thick steel bracket is designed for strength on both street and trail.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs recommended for all worm gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs.

Note: This coolant filter kit will not repair or reverse damage caused by sediment or other solids in the cooling system. Mishimoto recommends following all manufacturer cooling system service procedures and maintenance intervals.

Recommendation: Mishimoto recommends changing the coolant filter after the first month, again after 3 months, and then every year after that, depending on driving conditions. Because each engine was cast differently, there will be a different amount of debris in each engine.
