The Mishimoto 2015-2016 WRX Baffled Oil Catch Can System is designed to reduce carbon buildup, a common issue with direct fuel injection engines such as the FA20-DIT. This system includes two Mishimoto Compact Baffled Oil Catch Cans, engineered to separate oil particles from the PCV/CCV air that would otherwise be routed back to the intake.

The internal air diverter increases air turbulence, ensuring oil settles at the bottom of the can, while clean air passes through the 50-micron bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle prevents collected oil from splashing during race conditions. The billet 6061 aluminum cans include black aluminum fittings and are sealed with Viton O-rings. Two direct-fit steel powder-coated brackets mount the cans in serviceable locations, and the cans are fully washable.

Application-specific, pre-molded hoses are included for easy installation. Mishimoto catch cans are not heated, allowing all blow-by to condense in the can. Unlike most air-oil-separator systems that drain blow-by back into the oil pan, these catch cans trap blow-by and keep it out of the engine permanently. The kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
