Description MISHIMOTO MMBCC-RAM-09PBE2 DODGE Ram 5.7L Baffled Oil Catch Can, 2009-2018

The classic Dodge Hemi engine is known for its performance, but engine blow-by remains a concern. This direct-fit, baffled oil catch can kit for the 2009+ Dodge Ram 5.7L V8 is designed to minimize blow-by and extend the interval between valve servicing.

Testing revealed that the standard 2oz can was insufficient, as blow-by exceeded its capacity in under 1000 miles. The kit now features a larger 7.5 oz billet aluminum can with internal baffling, air diverters, and a 50-micron bronze filter to help keep oil out of the intake and prevent carbon deposits on the valves. The included steel bracket ensures a secure, vibration-resistant installation with a clean OEM appearance. Installation takes less than one hour, and the kit is easily serviceable.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 500 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
