The direct-injected and turbocharged 2.0L Hurricane engine in the 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL is the most advanced engine ever fitted to a Wrangler. Despite its high-tech features, it remains susceptible to blow-by, a low-tech issue that can lead to carbon buildup. Direct injection improves fuel efficiency and power but increases the risk of carbon deposits as blow-by carries oil past the piston rings and into the intake.

Blow-by is vented into the intake to prevent crankcase pressure buildup, but in direct-injected engines, it can accumulate on the back of the intake valves, causing carbon buildup. This buildup can prevent valves from closing fully, disrupt airflow, and result in poor running, misfires, or even engine damage if left unchecked.

The Mishimoto 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L direct-fit baffled oil catch can kit diverts blow-by away from the intake valves and into a 7.5 oz catch can. Internal air diverters and a baffle condense oil, fuel, and water vapor, ensuring only fresh air enters the intake. Direct-fit lines and a high-flow filter help maintain CEL-free operation. The kit is protected by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Note: Due to the high sensitivity of the CCV pressure sensor, this product may trigger a check-engine light at altitudes of 4,000 ft. and above.

Note: Mishimoto does not recommend the use of a drain kit with this catch can. This catch can kit is engineered to replicate the pressure conditions of the stock CCV system and any change to the volume or flow of the system may trigger a check engine light.

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 500 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
