Turbocharging and direct injection are increasingly used to build powerful and efficient trucks. However, if not properly maintained, these technologies can lead to issues for the 2017-2020 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost. Direct injection makes the 3.5L EcoBoost one of the most efficient engines ever fitted to the F-150, but without fuel washing over the intake valves, blow-by can accumulate as carbon deposits.

Over time, these carbon deposits may restrict engine performance. The Mishimoto 2017-2020 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost Catch Can Kit protects the intake tract and valves from blow-by and carbon buildup. The dual-can setup routes blow-by away from the intake and valves in all driving conditions. The 12 fl. oz. baffled catch can allows for longer service intervals, and the powder-coated, 3mm-thick steel bracket provides durability. Pre-installed quick-disconnect fittings simplify installation.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Note: May require modification to fit with 2021 models due to differences in firewall construction.

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
