The LS3 engines in the 5th Gen Camaro SS produce over 400 horsepower from eight cylinders. However, these cylinders also generate blow-by, where oil, fuel, and combustion by-products pass the piston rings with each stroke. If left unchecked, this blow-by can enter the intake and reduce engine power and efficiency.

The Mishimoto 2010-15 Camaro SS direct-fit catch can kit is designed to address this issue. The catch can features air diverters and an internal baffle to slow incoming air and condense oil and fuel vapors. A 50-micron bronze filter at the outlet further prevents blow-by from escaping. The catch can mounts using a custom bracket that requires no drilling or cutting, and direct-fit lines with quick-disconnect fittings connect to the factory Chevrolet PCV system for easy installation.

Mishimoto catch cans differ from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems. They are not heated, allowing all blow-by, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors, to condense in the can. Unlike most AOS systems that drain blow-by back into the oil pan, Mishimoto catch cans trap blow-by and keep it out of the engine permanently.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch cans every 500 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.

Note: For 2010 and 2011 models, GM part # 22762586 is required for the correct bushing needed for installation.
