Mishimoto introduces a catch can kit designed for the first turbocharged Honda engine in the US domestic market. Despite its compact 1.5L displacement, this engine delivers impressive performance. The Mishimoto Civic catch can helps maintain optimal engine operation, ensuring the 1.5L turbocharged engine continues to perform as intended.

The 2-port baffled catch can mounts at the rear of the engine bay using an application-specific bracket. A 50 micron bronze filter prevents blow-by from contaminating the intake tract. The kit includes direct-fit hoses for a straightforward installation, typically completed in about 30 minutes.

Mishimoto catch cans differ from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems. These catch cans are not heated, allowing all blow-by, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors, to condense in the can. Unlike most AOS systems that return blow-by to the oil pan, Mishimoto catch cans permanently trap contaminants, preventing them from re-entering the engine.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Note: Only fits with left-hand drive models.

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the Mishimoto baffled catch can every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
