The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit is engineered for the BRZ/86 to prevent harmful blow-by vapors from re-entering the engine. The FA20 engine in the BRZ/86 uses a direct injection system with port fuel injectors to help reduce carbon buildup. While carbon buildup is less severe than in most direct-injected engines, this catch can kit is still recommended to help maintain optimal engine performance.

Thousands of test miles were conducted on a Subaru BRZ to determine the most effective catch can setup. Mishimoto engineers found that installing the catch can in the vacuum-assisted PCV system yields the highest oil accumulation during normal and aggressive driving. A catch can on the crankcase vent system provides little to no accumulation on stock or modified vehicles. For most BRZ/86 vehicles, a single catch can in the PCV system is most effective, while a second catch can on the crankcase vent side is only beneficial for forced induction setups.

The kit includes the Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can with a bronze filter and internal baffle for improved oil separation. It features a direct-fit mounting bracket compatible with both right-hand and left-hand drive vehicles. The kit also comes with two direct-fit hoses for the 10mm PCV valve and 12mm intake manifold port, as well as CNC-machined aluminum barbed fittings. The Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty is included.

Installation Notes: 22 in-lbs (2.5NM) is recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs (2-3NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3NM).

Note: This product fits both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. This product fits both LHD and RHD vehicles.

Recommendation: After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch can every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle.
