The K&N 69-6540TB Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed for select Mitsubishi Lancer models. The factory air filter and intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake, which is engineered to reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow.

This system allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air compared to the factory intake, resulting in increased power and acceleration across the RPM range. The 69-6540TB includes a black rubber-topped K&N high-flow air filter that fits into the original air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the throttle body, providing a guaranteed power gain.

The intake tube features a blue powder-coat finish and is designed to accommodate the factory mass air sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is straightforward and typically takes 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points.
