The K&N 69-6030-1TFK Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed for select Mazda RX-8 models. The restrictive factory air filter and intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake, which is engineered to reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow.

This system allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air compared to the factory intake, resulting in increased usable power and improved acceleration across the RPM range. The 69-6030-1TFK includes a K&N high-flow air filter within an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber housing and a heat shield that fits into the original air box location. The intake tube features a durable flat black finish and is designed to accommodate the factory mass air sensor, air straightener, and several vent lines.

The oversized air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward and typically takes 90 minutes or less.
