The K&N 69-6000TR Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed for select Mazda Miata and MX-5 models. The factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake, which is engineered to reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow.

This system allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air than the factory intake, resulting in increased power and acceleration across the engine's RPM range. The 69-6000TR includes a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that fits into the original air box location. Air is directed through the intake tube into the throttle body for a guaranteed power gain.

The intake tube features a durable red powder-coat finish and is designed to accommodate the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor, and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points.
