The K&N 69-6000TP Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed for select Mazda Miata and MX-5 models. The factory air filter and intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake, which is engineered to reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening the air path.

This system allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air compared to the factory intake, resulting in increased usable power and improved acceleration across the RPM range. The intake features a black rubber-topped K&N high-flow air filter that fits into the original air box location, directing air through the intake tube into the throttle body for a guaranteed power gain.

The polished intake tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor, and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points.
