The K&N 69-1009TR Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed for select Acura RSX Type-S and Honda Civic VI or SI models. The restrictive factory air filter and intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake, which is engineered to reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow.

This system allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air compared to the factory intake, resulting in increased usable power and improved acceleration across the RPM range. The 69-1009TR includes a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that fits in the original air box location. Air is routed through the intake tube into the throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube features a durable red powder-coat finish and is designed to accommodate the factory air temperature sensor, crank case vent hose, and idle air bypass control thermal valve hose.

The large cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward and typically takes 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points.
