The K&N 57-2523-2 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in select Ford Mustang models. K&N intakes are engineered to reduce intake restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow. This allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air compared to the factory air filter assembly.

Increased airflow results in more usable power and improved acceleration across the engine's RPM range. The 57-2523-2 air intake includes a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the original air box location. Air is directed through an aerodynamically designed intake tube into the engine's throttle body for a guaranteed power gain.

The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points and accommodating the factory mass air sensor. Commonly available tools are required for installation.
