The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-inspired design that combines racing heritage with the durability required for high-performance road vehicles. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 translates the iconic design and engineering philosophy of the legendary BBS E88 race wheel into a configuration suitable for both street use and demanding track-day conditions.
The wheel features a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 paired with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the renowned BBS LM wheel program developed in Japan. This advanced two-piece forged aluminum construction enhances structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, improving steering precision, suspension response, and overall vehicle dynamics.
Unlike dedicated racing wheels, the RT88 incorporates road-ready finishes and enhanced sealing technology to ensure reliable long-term performance in real-world driving conditions. The structure is optimized using FEM analysis to achieve an excellent strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining the durability required for performance driving.
Designed for modern high-performance vehicles, the RT88 provides generous clearance for large braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages commonly found on performance models.
