The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-derived component engineered to provide race-inspired performance while maintaining the durability required for road applications. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 integrates the engineering philosophy and iconic styling of the legendary BBS E88 racing wheel into a design suitable for high-performance street vehicles and track-day use.
The wheel features a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 combined with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program developed in Japan. This construction enhances structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, resulting in improved steering response, suspension efficiency, and overall vehicle dynamics. Unlike dedicated racing wheels, the RT88 incorporates durable finishes and improved air retention, ensuring reliable long-term operation on public roads.
Manufactured using advanced forging techniques and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 delivers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The design also ensures compatibility with modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages, making the wheel suitable for demanding road and track environments.
