The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-derived solution engineered to deliver race-inspired design and performance for high-performance road vehicles and track-day applications. Developed through collaboration between BBS Motorsport divisions in Germany and the United States, the RT88 translates the iconic appearance and engineering philosophy of the legendary BBS E88 racing wheel into a configuration suitable for everyday driving.
The design integrates a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program in Japan. This architecture enhances structural rigidity while maintaining a reduced unsprung mass, contributing to improved handling response and overall vehicle dynamics. Unlike pure motorsport wheels, the RT88 incorporates protective finishes and improved air retention, eliminating the maintenance requirements typically associated with competition-only wheels.
Manufactured using advanced forging processes and weight optimization through FEM analysis, the RT88 provides exceptional durability and brake system compatibility. The wheel is engineered to accommodate modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic setups, making it suitable for demanding performance driving and track environments.
