Toyota Supra A90: Preparing for the UAE Track Season
Track season in the UAE is when most track days take place. But even in relatively comfortable weather at Dubai Autodrome or Yas Marina, a stock Toyota Supra A90 usually starts to struggle after just three or four hot laps. The main problems are intake heat soak, rising transmission oil temperatures, and brake fade.
At ATOMIC-SHOP, we built this project for one main reason: to keep the car working consistently during open track sessions. The goal was not just more power, but a car that can complete a full session without losing performance.
Thermal Management & Engine Stability
The B58 engine responds very well to tuning and has a lot of potential. But during long track sessions it tends to build up heat in the intake manifold. To deal with that, we replaced the factory unit with a CSF 8200 Charge-Air Cooler Manifold and added a CSF 8200S Thermal Rejection Spacer. This setup increases coolant volume and helps reduce heat transfer from the cylinder head to the intake. The system is supported by a CSF 8154 High-Performance Heat Exchanger and a CSF 8179 Auxiliary Radiator.
To protect the ZF 8HP gearbox, we also installed a CSF 8183 Transmission Oil Cooler. This is important because high transmission temperatures on track can quickly push the car into limp mode.

Power & Exhaust System
To increase power, the factory turbocharger was replaced with a PURE800 Turbocharger. It flows much more air than the stock unit while still spooling quickly, which makes it a good fit for a fast track car.
To reduce exhaust backpressure, we installed an ARD B58 Decat Downpipe. This helps exhaust gases leave the turbo more freely and improves turbo efficiency under load.
The system is paired with an HKS Super Turbo Muffler, which improves exhaust flow without making the car overly harsh to drive. We also added an HKS Super SQV4 Blow-Off Valve to help keep boost control stable during aggressive driving and repeated throttle changes.

Boost Reliability & Intake
The factory plastic chargepipe is a known weak point under high load. Over time, the plastic can become brittle and may crack under higher boost or repeated heat cycles, which leads to boost leaks at the worst possible moment. To avoid that, we replaced it with an ARD PRP-100 Aluminum Chargepipe. The aluminum version is much stronger and more reliable for hard track use.
For better airflow, we installed the HKS Cold Air Intake Kit. We also added HKS Carbon Engine and ECU covers to help shield key components from engine bay heat.
As an extra safety measure, we installed an AQUAMIST HFS4-V3.1 Water/Methanol Injection system. This is one of the more advanced water-methanol systems on the market. It helps lower intake temperatures, supports power, and reduces the risk of detonation under heavy load. In UAE conditions, that gives the engine an extra layer of protection during long sessions.
Chassis Precision & Suspension
The factory rubber bushings move too much under high cornering loads, which changes suspension geometry when the car is being pushed hard. To fix that, we switched to a full SPL Parts Monoball setup, including caster rods, traction links, toe links, and adjustable sway bar endlinks.
The car now runs on HKS Hipermax R Coilovers with CUSCO front and rear sway bars. This setup lets us adjust the car for different tracks while keeping it more stable in fast corners. An HKS Carbon Brace Kit was also added to make the chassis more rigid.

Aero & Stability
To improve stability at speed, the car was fitted with a full ADRO Carbon Fiber Aero Package. This includes the ADRO Front Bumper, Front Lip, Side Skirts, and Rear Winglets. Together, these parts help manage airflow around the car and reduce lift at higher speeds.
At the rear, we installed the ADRO AT-R2 Swan Neck Wing. This design allows cleaner airflow under the wing and improves efficiency. On track, that means better rear stability in fast corners and under hard braking.

Track Safety & Driver Control
We also paid close attention to driver stability and safety. The car is fitted with RECARO Podium CF carbon bucket seats mounted on RECARO steel side mounts. These FIA-approved seats provide strong lateral support and keep the driver in place during high-G cornering.
To match the seating setup, we installed SCHROTH Profi 2 four-point harnesses. They help keep the driver more secure under braking and in corners, which also makes steering inputs more consistent.
For track practicality, the car also has a CUSCO rear tow hook, making recovery easier if needed during a track session.

Brakes & Final Touches
For reliable braking on track, we installed AP RACING Front RADICAL Big Brake Kit with PAGID RSL29 brake pads. This compound has been used in endurance motorsport for many years and is known for stable performance at high temperatures and a consistent pedal feel during long sessions.
We also wanted to reduce unsprung mass, so the car runs forged ADVAN GT BEYOND wheels wrapped in Michelin Cup 2 tires.
